Perhaps Hedy Lamarr's
most risque scenes of all time appear in a 1933 European
film called "Ecstasy".
This film made Lamarr a sensation before
she arrived in Hollywood. In this classic "adult film" of the dirty
30's, Lamarr stars as a young woman with the misfortune of having to deal with
a less than amorous husband. Ecstasy daringly pushed the borders of what was
socially acceptable in the thirties with its nudity and explicit lovemaking scenes.
Nude scenes include a very naked Hedy Lamarr cheerfully prancing about, swimming, and
running through the woods. The film also shows closeups of Lamarr's convincing face during the lovemaking
"sex" scenes. This was unheard of at the time, and caused quite stir.
